Your company profile in over 114 languages

Whether you are a long established company or a new company just starting out you’ll have a company profile, right?  Of course you do.

Translation servicesThe importance of having a company profile
A company profile is a well written and concise document outlining your company’s mission and includes information on your achievements, performance, services and products.  It enhances your credibility and authenticity and provides an insight to your business for customers or clients.

Effectively it tells them everything they want to know about your company before engaging in a business relationship with you.

Don’t forget to utilise it
It’s a little ‘refresher’ to leave with customers or clients after a meeting ensuring your vital information is easily to hand, long after you have left the building.  It could also be a ‘foot in the door’ when pitching for new business…

Digitally speaking
In keeping with the 21st century you will naturally have a website promoting your company, services and products.  Obviously you will have a page dedicated to your company profile too…

In email communication with new clients you should ideally be able to send just the first paragraph of your company profile instead of the entire document.  This of course depends on how well written it is and if it conveys enough of your company’s information.  If not, consider re-writing or prepare an edited concise version of your existing profile for this purpose.

Expanding your business globally
So the company profile is ready and available in both digital and printed format for those new business opportunities, but what about international business opportunities?

Well having your company profile available in several different languages is going to open the door to more business around the world.  Potential new customers or clients will be able to fully understand what your business is all about thus instilling trust in the services or products you provide.  Importantly they are more likely to make the next all important move.

We have the skills to assist you
Enigma Translation’s team of over 2,000 professional translators can translate your company profile into whichever language or languages you need to open those doors.  We cover over 114 languages, so all you have to do is select the most relevant and we’ll ensure an accurate translation of your company’s merits.

But why stop there…
…when you could also engage our website translation service and make your website available in several languages and reach a broader audience?  And how about your marketing materials and campaigns?  Our marketing translation service can translate these too.

We don’t hang around
That’s right we offer a same day translation service or completion within 24 hours – just let us know what suits you and we’ll provide a fast turnaround.

We’re at the end of the telephone on +44 (01604) 750 799 to discuss your requirements or email us if you prefer.  Of course you can also visit our website for details and see what we’re up to on Facebook.

Welsh translation

The 21st century has seen the spoken Welsh language rise in popularity from its position as a minority language in the 20th century.  According to the Welsh Language Board in 2004, 611,000 people in Wales speak Welsh.

Probably less well known is the fact that there are also 25,000 Welsh speakers in Chubut Province in the south of Argentina.  This is due to Welsh settlers who arrived by ship – the Mimosa – back in 1885 and started a new life in the Chubut Valley.

Translation servicesRoyal Approval
There has been a concerted effort over the years to officially reinstate the Welsh language.  In 2010 the Welsh Assembly approved measures to develop the language within Wales, finally resulting in it becoming officially recognised as a language after Royal Approval in February 2011.

The digital coming of age for the Welsh language
The use of the Welsh language on the Internet continues to grow as do digital facilities supporting the language.  Microsoft offers a Welsh version of their operating systems including Windows 7, Vista and XP along with their Office software.

If you would like to have a Welsh language version of your existing website, Enigma Translation can provide Website Translation for you.  We can also help with Marketing Translation to ensure your Welsh target audience is aware of your Internet presence.  You’ll be in good company as even Facebook and Wikipedia have Welsh language versions of their sites.

Mobile technology
Did you know that the Welsh Language Board introduced a free software pack to enable the use of SMS predictive text in Welsh for mobile phones back in 2006?  And in 2009 the Board got together with Samsung and Orange to provide the first mobile phone with an interface and T9 dictionary in the Welsh language.

Perhaps you are developing mobile technology or an app for smart phones and iPhones and would like to expand into the Welsh language market.  Again we can translate from any language into Welsh and you’ll be up there with the rest of the forward-thinkers.

Professional translators
Our team of full time translators have a minimum of 5 years experience and can help with all of your translations needs to and from Welsh.  And it doesn’t just have to be with your website, our services extend to Financial Translation, Technical Translation, Legal Translation, Medical Translation and a whole host of other specialised subjects too.

We say it like it is
For face-to-face meetings and networking opportunities, our team of interpreters can provide language support so that you’re in on the conversation and not left out in the cold.

We help businesses and individuals on a daily basis so if you’d like to be part of the Welsh language trend, call the Enigma Translation office on +44 (0) 1604 750799 or on our mobile +44 07930326698.  If the written word is more your thing, contact us via email or Facebook.

Marketing material translation

Marketing materials are often the first point of contact a consumer or business has with your product or service and can move a potential buyer to a purchaser or a user to a long term client.  Therefore it is imperative that your marketing materials work hard for you by making the right impression and getting your message across.

Translation servicesThe power of language
Having spent time and money on your marketing campaign and marketing materials to ensure your brand is well positioned in the local market; it would be a shame then to roll-out an inferior version globally.  Relying solely on your global audience having English as a first or second language and therefore understanding your message, product or service could mean you are excluding potential customers or businesses.

Why translate?
If your marketing materials are in the language of the country you are targeting then it goes without saying that you will reach a broader audience.  This is because consumers and businesses will feel more confident about your product or service.  Why?  Because they will fully understand your concept and what’s in it for them from the first point of contact to the post-sales support.

If you really want global success, translating or localising your marketing materials using Enigma Translation’s Marketing Translation service, will help you on your way.

Translation is only half the story
At Enigma Translation we know that you need more than just a literal translation of your marketing material.  We know that it is important to convey the context of your message, its aim and the tone of your brand.  We recognise that a clever play on words or a slogan that works well in your local market due to cultural connotations, may not translate well or at all into the target language.

Ensuring global acceptance
That is why we will assign you with a professional translator native to your target country to benefit from their cultural knowledge and an understanding of how best to re-phrase your message if necessary.  They will help you avoid both cultural and marketing faux pas with their specialist knowledge in all marketing and promotional disciplines, ensuring you are as well received abroad as you are here.

Helping your marketing materials reach further
We can translate your printed materials such as brochures, flyers, catalogues, newsletters, press releases and digital material in the form of website localisation, email newsletters, social media networks and blog content into whatever language you require.

We can help you promote your company, services and products to potential customers and businesses in the countries of your choice; and because business is always happening somewhere in the world, our same day service will ensure time zones are not an issue.

All you have to do is call.  You can reach us on +44 (01604) 750 799, by email, through our website or Facebook.

Reasons for small companies to use a translation company

Having an in-house team of translators is fantastic if your company has the resources and generates enough translation work to warrant it.

But in reality how big would your team need to be?
How many countries do you do business with or are you trying to reach?  Would you be lucky enough to find bilingual even trilingual employees to cover all the languages you need to communicate in?  Would you need your team full time?  What are the pitfalls of only employing team members on a part time basis?  Part time translators not being available when it really counts could be a deal-breaker.

Translation servicesSize matters
If you’re a small company this pipedream is unrealistic and definitely not cost effective, which is where Enigma Translation can help.

Enigma Translation at your service
We have 7 years of experience providing translation and interpreter support to small companies often at short notice, so we’re not fazed by tight deadlines.

Our team of translators are 2,000 strong across the globe and cover over 114 languages.  They are all full time, fully qualified professionals with at least five year’s experience and only translate into their native mother tongue.  They are available when you need them which is why we can offer a same day service or completion within 24 hours.  And the best bit, they’re not on your payroll, drinking your coffee or taking up space in your office.

Glossary of terms

If you follow us on Facebook you will have seen this post on our Enigma Translation page in the last few days:

“Many larger companies have their own in house culture, jargon and abbreviations and to outsiders it can be very confusing.  In these situations a glossary of terms is very helpful.  If one is not available then we can create one for future reference to ensure consistency and accuracy.”

We’d like to expand on this and what we can offer your business in the way of a glossary of terms.

Translation servicesWhat is a glossary of terms?
A glossary of terms is an invaluable tool for translators and is subject, client and project specific – think of it as ‘A Translator’s Guide to Your Company’.  Basically it is a translated list of approved words and terms relevant to your company which have been generated by you and the translator.

They are company, product, service and subject specific and include relevant terminology used in specialised areas.  For instance technical, medical, legal, marketing and financial terms as well as in-house catchphrases, jargon, abbreviations and strap lines etc.  Essentially whatever terminology is particular to your business area, products or service.

How can a glossary of terms benefit your company?
If you regularly require translation of documentation for and from clients and business associates a glossary of terms will aid the translator employed to do this.  It will ensure that your translator understands your business, brand, services and products resulting in consistent and correct terminology being used throughout your translations.

It will also be beneficial and cost-effective for further future translations as research and correction time is already reduced.  By using the glossary as an aid, the translator or translators can quickly and efficiently continue translating in the same tone and context by using correct approved terminology.

And if you are considering translating into multiple languages it truly comes into its own as multilingual equivalents can be easily added to already identified and translated keywords and terms.

What can Enigma Translation offer?
Enigma Translation is happy to help with your translation needs, whether it’s for a one-off project or to offer long term translation support.

Our global network of professional translators are fluent in over 114 languages and are also experts in their own specific field including Medical Translation, Financial Translation, Legal Translation, Technical Translation and Marketing Translation.  They are able to work with your own existing glossary of terms or to work with you to create one for future use.  This will ensure that reliable and accurate terminology relevant to your company is consistently used across your translated documentation.

If a glossary of terms sounds like a useful tool to you, then get in touch to make it happen.  You can call Enigma Translation on +44 (01604) 750 799, email us and find us on Facebook.

Top Tips for choosing a translation company

There are many companies offering translation services so how do you spot a good one?  The one that’s right for you?  Here at Enigma Translation we’ve prepared our top tips to help with the challenge.

1. Experienced company
Look for an established company with experience.  Give them a call and chat about your requirements and what you’d like to achieve.  Ask them about their credentials and services they provide for other clients.  This will give you a feel for the company and gut instinct will tell you whether you’re a match.

Enigma Translation has been providing translation services since 2004.  Our founder Graham Bowles believes “The world of language translation can be a mystery to many people and barriers are built up, hence the name Enigma – meaning a puzzling thing or person.  With Enigma Translation, it’s not a barrier, it’s a gateway!”

2. Comprehensive services
Make sure the company specialises in the area of translation you require and in areas that you might see yourself using in the future.

We specialise in many areas of translation because business comes in all shapes and sizes

  • Legal translation covering Civil law, Commercial law, Criminal law, International law, Property law, Employment law, Probate and Family law
  • Marketing translation for press releases, newsletters, emails, flyers, brochures and entire marketing campaigns
  • Financial translation covering Banking, Insurance, Taxation, Stock Markets and Property Markets
  • Medical translation in these areas: Alternative therapies, Dentistry, Health and safety, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, Paediatrics, Pharmaceuticals, Preventative medicine, Psychiatry, Public health, Radiology and Veterinary
  • Website translation to enable your message, services and products to reach a broader target audience

Take a look on our website to see the other areas we can help with translation in too.

3. The personal touch
Look for a company that uses human translators not computer software.  Translation Memory software has its place but its literal translations from databases storing translated words and phrases often miss the mark.

By using Enigma Translation you’ll benefit from the personal touch of a professional linguist who is specially assigned to you and the specialist area you require translation in.  Thus ensuring an understanding of the language’s nuances, the cultural differences and the context in which your document is written.  This is crucial to ensure an accurate translation.

4. Source and target language
Make sure the company offers translators who are fluent in both the source and target language.  Expertise in only one is offering an incomplete service and allowing room for error.

At Enigma Translation our 2,000 strong team of translators are fluent in over 70 languages.  Your dedicated linguist will be fully qualified in the source language, a native speaker of the target language and in addition have expertise in the area you require support.

By now you’ll have realised the challenge is over and that Enigma Translation is the company for you!  Give us a call on +44 (01604) 750 799, email us or get a free instant quote via our website.

Marketing translation

A successful marketing campaign is often based on a clever play on words or a subtle manipulation of the language to deliver a unique and memorable message.  It gets the audience’s attention, gets them talking and they answer the call to action.  They ‘buy’ into the message the company is sending or the product they are showcasing.

Globally correct?
But what happens when you want to convey the same message globally to multiple countries with different cultures?  How can you be sure you will be sending the same message in a language you are unfamiliar with?  And does it translate culturally?  After all offending a whole nation could certainly damage your brand.

Don’t get lost in translation
Delivering a stand out message is key to your marketing campaign’s success, but only if it is memorable for the right reasons.  Historically big brands have fallen foul of the perils of incorrect language translation – clearly they didn’t use Enigma Translation  – and have therefore stood out for all the wrong reasons.

Take Coca-Cola for instance, they used characters from the Chinese language that represented the sound of the words ‘Coca-Cola’ for their campaign in the Chinese market.  Unfortunately the characters translated as ‘bite the wax tadpole’, which is less than appealing.

Coor’s translation for ‘Turn it Loose’ in the Spanish language implied suffering from diarrhoea – a far cry from its intended message of a relaxing time when enjoying their beer.

Pepsi’s slogan ‘Come Alive With Pepsi’ fell flat in the German language when it translated as ‘Come Out of the Grave with Pepsi’.

An entrepreneurial American printed T-shirts in both English and Spanish to mark the Pope’s visit to Miami.  The English version read ‘le Papa’ (the Pope) but the Spanish language version read ‘la papa’ which unfortunately translates as ‘I saw the potato’!  Scarily sometimes all it takes is the mix up of a single letter and poor punctuation to completely change the message.

Avoid language faux pas
That’s why it’s imperative for marketing translation that you choose the best translation service available.  Enigma Translation has a global network of over 2000 linguists specialising in over 70 languages and you will be paired with a translator who specialises in all marketing and promotional disciplines.

Whether you require marketing translation for press releases, flyers, brochures, newsletters, emails or a whole marketing campaign, we can guarantee you will send the right message – the message you intended – in your chosen language.

Get in touch by email or by calling us on +44 (01604) 750 799 with your requirements.

Note: translation faux pas compiled from various publications.
